Time:
45 minutes
Difficulty:
Ingredients (for 2 doughs)
- 1 cup water (room temperature)
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour or bread flour
- 1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 tsp yeast
Steps
Step 1:
In the water, sugar and yeast and stir until diluted. Let the yeast water mix sit for at least 10 minutes. This is a great time to measure the other ingredients and start to prepare the oven to pre-heat while waiting.
Step 2:
In a separate bowl mix all the dry ingredients.
Step 3:
If using a stand mixer, use the dough hook attachment.
Add the dry ingredients to the stand mixer bowl and then add the yeast and liquid mixture. Let the mixer knead the dough until it forms a ball ( about 5 minutes). If the dough is too dry add 1 tablespoon of water at a time. If the dough is too sticky and does not form a ball you can add flour 1 tablespoon at a time.
Step 4:
Place in a bowl that has been oiled, cover with a towel and leave in a warm area of your kitchen for 30 minutes or until the dough doubles in size.
Step 5:
Cut the dough into 2 equal pieces and make your pizzas. Enjoy!
