Electrolyte Drink
Introduction
Summer… The weather is nice, hot and it’s time to enjoy the outdoors. A short bike ride, a day outdoors in the Old Port or perhaps a hike in Mont-Tremblant. But who says heat says risk of possible dehydration!
And if you’re an athlete, it’s an additional risk factor for dehydration. Know that beyond the basic needs it is also necessary to compensate for the liquid needed during sports activity which requires electrolytes, in particular sodium and potassium, as well as carbohydrates in order to be well hydrated!
Sweat is more than water especially if the activity lasts more than 60 minutes and even more important if the temperature becomes a risk factor.
What to do ? There are sports drinks available on the market but if you prefer to make it yourself here is a homemade recipe.
